ichelle Obama Helps Plant White House Vegetable Garden

How wonderful to see Michelle Obama and the children helping plant out the vegie patch at the White House. I don't expect they'll be doing the daily watering and maintenance, but I'm sure they'll look in on the progress whenever they can. The Obama's are as down to earth as any family could possibly be when living in the White House and I'm sure the girls will enjoy picking and using there home grown fare.
Gardening is a skill that can be learned. No one is really born with a green thumb, and no one is born with a gene that kills everything they plant. The difference is simply knowledge and confidence. People that have gardened all their lives have usually grown up with gardens. This brings an innate confidence in the process and the type of knowledge born of watching and listening parents do things. (more...)
